I have a new goodman furnace and heatpump i sometimes here a loud whaaaaaa noise coming from the heat pump. the tech rplaced the a voltage switch for the reversing valve and replaced the defrost board, but a week later it is back to making that noise and it is loud, HELP, should i turn it on emergency heat ? the tech seems to think for some reason it is kicking its self into cooling mode on the heatpump while still in heat mode, and that the fan is running while in defrost mode. Help.
This may be a stupid question. My friend is trying to figure out how it is possible to fry a heat sink, because we have a friend that has an extra one that was on a fried motherboard. My question is, is it possible that when the motherboard is fried, the heat sink is also fried? Is it because the motherboard fries the cables connected to the heat sink?
