Open Question: arthritis-friends fasteners?Hello Y!A, I need a fastening method that is arthritis friends. it needs to connect a 1" synthetic strap (think: helmet strap). because of the specific application, velcro is out of the question. Because of the arthritis, a "squeeze buckle" is out of the question (again, think kids bike helmet buckle). I am desperately trying to find a small "push-button buckle" (like the ones you push to release?!) but i can't find one for sale. Any other ideas?? All ideas please submit with a site to buy them!! larger hook and loop? I can't find anywhere to buy one larger than bra-strap size! it also needs to be a little more durable that a bra-strap clasp. hook and loop would be great... just cant find hook and loop buckles for sale. hahaha, yes, i'm sorry. arthritis f-r-i-e-n-d-l-y. my brain must have been turned off. Open Question: Front Porch wood flooring?I just bought a new house with a front porch that needs some work. The structure is in good shape but many of the floor boards are rotting so I want to start over with a new floor. I was originally planning on replacing it with t & g Douglas Fir. From what I have researched, this is what most likely been originally used when the house was made (American Foursquare 1914). However I am now wondering if I could replace it with reclaimed wide planks...maybe southern pine or cypress. I love the look and the idea of reusing resources but I live in Chicago and don't want to waste the money if they aren't going to last a while. Either way I am not going to paint but plan to stain and seal. Thank you for advice, Daniel Open Question: Need help with my Wine Theme Kitchen?I have decided to do a Wine theme in my kitchen. Does anyone have any ideas as well as suggestions on decor as well as a online store where I can purchase these things. I really just need the towels, rug, and pot holders. I have tried stores like Target, Walmart and no luck any pics. will be nice Open Question: What is the best material to use in packing boxes?I am trying to pack up our house before we move and it is driving me crazy trying to find the best cheap packing material. Open Question: Is it possible to connect two separate 220 volt 3 phase lines to make 440 volt 3 phase? ie 220 + 220 = 440?If so what would such a schematic look like? Not really going to try it, just wondering if it's possible without a separate transformer and the like. Open Question: Glass Panel Deck Railing?I'm looking into but a glass panel railing around my deck using the system from AGSStainless.com. I need to find a company in the Boston area that can custom cut the 3/8" tempered glass panels that I'll need. Does anyone know of a company or better yet, has anyone worked with a company in the Boston area that they can recommend? Any price estimates would also be great.
