It normally takes 8 cups to fill the container, but after putting the usual 8 cups you find that the container is not filling up. You discover that the container has a hole that is letting juice off at the rate of 1/4 cup for every 1 cup you put in. You seal the hole. How many more cups of juice do you have to add to fill the container? Open Question: About how many screws are in a 5Lb box of exterior screws?They're from home depot, but I'm not sure what brand. I'm getting the 2 inch exterior screws. Open Question: How do you fasten 1" sander belts to themself?i am looking to buy a table top 1" belt & disc sander from harbor freight. they have the sander belts but they come in a 50 ft roll...you have to cut them to length yourself. How do you do this??? i know that you make your cut at a angle but how do you fasten it to itself to make the complete loop. anyone have details??? Open Question: Painting wood porch railing and need to fill in holes in wood before painting?How long does it take the putty to dry, and does it need to be a certain temperature outside before I can use the wood putty? Open Question: Can I install new carpet & pad over old carpet glue on concrete?The current carpet in our basement room has no carpet pad. It is dated so we are looking to purchase some new carpet for this room. The current carpet was glued down. Do I need to take up all of the carpet glue before installing a new carpet with pad? Or will the pad simply absorb any imperfections on the concrete? Open Question: Refinishing a guitar?I have an ibanez electric guitar that is currently painted black. The paint is getting worn down and I was wondering how hard it would be to refinish it. I was thinking about sanding the paint off and giving it a natural finish, but it's not a nice guitar so I'm sure its not very nice wood. So then i thought about putting veneer on the top and then just staining it. What would i need to do to accomplish this? When I read about finishing guitars online it seems very complicated, involving certain types of wood sealer and lacquer and all. All i want to do is put a natural finish on it. Whats the easiest way to do this myself? Open Question: looking for info and help on installing generator?any info on hooking up home generator back ip would be appreciated Open Question: How thick loft insulation (when boarding)?Hello, I've given myself the fun job of RE-insulating the Loft and Boarding it (for general storage). The Beam height is 100mm. My question is how thick can/should I insulate between the beams (with Loft Roll Insulation), and still be able to lay the Boards ontop and secure down? (I've heard you shouldn't compress loft insulation as it can put pressure on your ceilings). Look forward to the feedback. :-) Open Question: How do I fix my leaking shower head?I switched out both the hot and cold valve stems and the seats and there is still a constant drip, drip, drip, all day, all night. I'm going to try the old seats for whatever reason and add some telfon tape. Very frustrating but I'm actually getting pretty good at it now. I've got to think that it's the seats now because there's a good seal from what I see on the gasket to the seats. 3 trips to Loews, learning how to replace stems, and a constant drip physically and mentally- priceless! Ok, I changed out the seats and that didn't do it. Very depressing. Open Question: What colour would go best with VIBRANT METALLIC RED PAINT?Me and my hubby are painting a cabinet and i chose the bright red paint but now we haven't got a clue what colour would look best with it?? Open Question: How many layers of paint can you apply to sheet metal before it is no longer magnetic?I am using slightly rusted sheet metal and applying a few layers of rust-resistant primer and the couple layers of chalkboard paint over the primer to make a magnetic chalkboard. I am wondering how many layers of paint can be applied to a basic thin metal sheet before the magnetic force is lessened to the point it will not longer hold a magnet. Open Question: What paint to use on a on a nylon web belt?I'm making my own nylon web belts. Could anyone give me some advice on what type of paint I could use to stencil a pattern on to them? -- I assume some kind of fabric paint, but I was unsure since the nylon is synthetic, I could be afraid of the paint cracking.
