Open Question: Mortice door bolts...Are the star keys a standard size?Open Question: What is the best way to seal up an old floor vent? The house used to have a stove in the basement that would heat the house through a vent in the living room. Central air has been installed but I'm having trouble keeping the living room warm this winter. The duct work is gone from the vent - it is just a big hole to the basement with a metal grate over it. The rug covers it up and prevents a lot of cold air from leaking into the upstairs but with the recent rate increases I need to save energy as much as possible. Is there a vent cover with insulation I can install? or will I have to make my own? Open Question: what size I joist do I need to span 30 feet?I am building a log home and do not want to put a support beam in the crawlspace so what size I joist do I need for the floor to span 30 feet unsupported? TOILET CLOGGED!!!!?My toilet is clogged because i have eosinophilic gastroenteritis (EG for short) which is a disease in the colon(or entire digestive system in my case) and i had a flare up and had a very large stool(wide, not very long) that clogged my toilet. I am going to try flushing again in a few minutes but i have tried twice and no luck..... I finally am going to let it sit for 10 minutes because it was soft and hopefully will decinigrate on it's on. I also bored some hot water into the toilet to hopefully help.
