Open Question: How to prevent frozen piping?

Hiyaaa, Me and my dad are building a summer house at the end of our garden, it's more or less a 3 room bungalow haha. Except we've encountered one problem, because the concrete foundation was already laid (there was a previous summer house, but we knocked it down and left the old concrete foundation there), the piping leaves the earth to the house and a tiny little bit of piping will be exposed to mother nature. This doesn't sound like a lot, but it could cause major damage if not insulated properly and so is asking any budding plumbers: What insulation should we use to prevent mother nature freezing our pipes in winter? Here in the UK we've had lows of about -10 clesius (I don't know fahenheit), and so any insulation to prevent our pipes freezing at that temperature would be jolly! Cheeeeeeeers Migle20
