Open Question: What makes a toilet make a flushing sound by itself? Our toilet's water doesn't actually drain from the bowl when it makes this sound and the "flushing" sound is a bit quieter than a real flush. The chain has come off the hook before and I've just hooked it back on no problem. But the hook is fine and in place when the toilet makes this sound. Now it's making this soft flushing sound about 4 or 5 times each night. I'm posting cause I can't call a plumber right now for various reasons. If I can fix this by replacing parts or something that would be ideal. Any plumbers or fix it people recognize the symptoms? Fix it advice would be appreciated :) Thanks! Open Question: How can I stop cold air from coming in through my forced air vents that are behind my fireplace hearth? Two out my the 6 air vents that come in my family room are coming out of my fireplace hearth. It seems as if the duct work was layed first, then the firplace was built on top of it. So the left the 3x8 rectangles on each side of the hearth so the vents can come trough the sides. However this room is always cold and it was until today I realized that col air is coming in through these two vents. However the other vents in this room are fine. This room was an aiddtion done to my house. I have no idea when. But it is own a seperate HVAC system the the entire house. More Recent Articles |
