Open Question: Why are studs 92 5/8 inches long?

Hi, I'm designing a cabin as a starter project before i go on to designing a real house and I have come up with a question. I am wondering why precut studs measure 92 5/8 inches long instead of 92 inches. Now I've done some research on this and people say because when you put 1/2 inch sheetrock and 1/8 inch flooring, it gives you a ceiling height of 8'. But what got me wondering was, I got a book on wall framing and it says to use 2x10's for the headers and then a 2x4 laying horizontal underneath the 2x10. well if I'm doing the math right and you use a 2x4 for the bottom plate (which would be cut out after the wall is put up), that would give you a rough opening for the door height of 83 3/8. Now I went to Lowe's to look at doors and the 36 inch wide doors say "rough opening 38.50x82.50". Does this mean the door including the frame is 38.50x82.50 or that the opening in the wall should measure 38.50x82.50. If it means the opening in the wall should measure 82.50 inches tall, there is a 7/8 inch difference between that and the 83 5/8 inch dimension i am getting when using the 2x10 and 2x4 header. Sorry it has to be so long. I hope i didn't confuse you too much. Thanks for any help

Open Question: how to keep condensation off of your toilet tank?

I understand that there is cold water inside and my house is fairly warm, but my toilet tank seems to sweat excessively. It drips water all over the floor and I wipe it off several times a day, but it just keeps coming back. I am afraid it will eventually rot the floor around the toilet. Is there anything I can do to eliminate or even minimize this?
