Open Question: How can I keep my utility sink drain from popping off?

I have a two basin utility sink with a plastic drain assembly underneath. The PVC drain pipes screw onto a pvc pipe coming from the sink with a little plastic expansion gasket thing. My washing machine empties directly into the sink. Every now and then when the washing machine is emptying, the drain assembly pops off and the room floods. Any ideas how I can make sure the drain stays on, even if there is a lot of pressure from the washer emptying? I believe I have the "slip-joint" kind. Perhaps I need to glue.

Open Question: How much would it cost to build this cat tower?

Anyone have any idea what the approximate cost would be for supplies? I've never purchased wood before, so based on the picture, does anyone have a general idea of what I can expect? I know prices can vary, but an educated guess would be helpful. Here's the tower I am interested in: http://www.cattreeplans.com/build_cat_furniture_p5.php Haha thanx. My dad built a tower for my cat when I was a kid, but it was wobbly and ugly. I'm having him build a new one, and trying to find something that looks nicer. I know to only use certain types of carpet and will probably use rope on all of the poles, rather than carpet.

How much would a plumber charge to take out an old three piece bathroom suite and fit a new suite in the same place?

Open Question: Our teacher is making us build a bridge out of balsa wood to enter into a competition. Any tips?

Just a few other details: he is making us build the bridge in order to go on a free Cyber Club field trip to Boston. Now, tell me this: what does building a stupid bridge have to do with computers? A good point was brought up in one of the answers. The bridge is indeed going to be weighed and tested for structural integrity. Also, any tips you have on building the bridge would be much appreciated...not just general ideas, but sort of in-depth descriptions so as to make my life easier. :)
