Open Question: How Do I Keep a Metal Screw-On Lid From Rusting?

So I bought a vintage glass bottle (originally used for maple syrup!) and was planning on using it for a neat water bottle. However, the screw-on lid is metal! Although there is not any rust on it right now, I'm worried that using it daily with water will start to rust it... Any suggestions on how to prevent this?

Open Question: Whats the song that goes " to the window to the wall to the wall?"?

Hey I know this song but I just can't remember the name of it. It goes to the window to the wall to the wall to the wall now all you b*tches crawl. Sandra Bullock dances to it in the Proposal.

Open Question: Leaking basement, THROUGH THE FLOOR?!?

We are closing on a house tomorrow. It is raining extremely heavily (already 4+" in the past 24 hours) and expected to rain through Sunday. We just noticed our basement is leaking, up through the floors. We have lived in this house since December and haven't had this problem yet -- even our last heavy rainstorm. Now, I read somewhere that if it's leaking up through the floors, you can use concrete sealer to seal all cracks and solve the problem. The issue is, half our basement is finished and it's leaking on the finished side -- not carpet, but TILE. What can we do to fix this? We DO NOT HAVE GUTTERS and our yard has HUGE puddles right next to the house.. we are installing gutters and downspouts the next day it's dry. Will they help enough?? Is it worth backing out of the sale and our contract to avoid having to deal with this??

Open Question: need specs on concrete beams?

I am building a 2 story house out of concrete block in the phillipines. I dont trust their building standards so I want to use specs from the USA. To span 25 feet what kind of concrete beam/rebar do I need to support the second floor? (generally) and is the slab for the second floor 4 inches or 6 inches? PLEASE DONT TELL ME TO USE A STEEL BEAM. WE CANT OVER THERE BECAUSE THERE IS NO WAY TO LIFT IT. THEY USE CEMENT BEAMS. I ALREADY KNOW I WOULD PREFER STEEL IBEAMS BUT IT IS NOT POSSIBLE. THE QUESTION IS ABOUT CONCRETE BEAMS.

Open Question: How do I get a credit report with out a credit card or checking account?

I spent some time in jail and my credit card expired. Currently I have no checking account or active credit card. How do I get a credit report? All the sites I have seen require a valid active credit card.
