Open Question: How thick can a 10" Table saw cut in one pass?

I want to buy a 10" table saw. I was wondering what is an average thickness that this saw will cut. Can it cut something like a 4"X4" in one cut? Thx

Open Question: Primed panels on a newly built shed, will they warp if it rains?

My shed panels are pre-primed tongue and groove. I had only enough time to put them up today, however we have rain due for tomorrow. Should I be worried? Id hate to think they'd warp with just one day of rain... and there really isnt much I can do till i have another day off. I was thinking the weather would hold out, but looks like it isnt. Other than some trim work, the shed is done... roof is on and shingled, so the part of the panel on the inside should stay dry.. am I in for trouble here?

Open Question: Rigging an electric range for stage?

First of all, let me preface this by saying I know nothing whatsoever about wiring or electricity beyond the very basics... I'm designing a set for theatre that involves having a working electric range on stage. By working, I only mean that one burner will heat for cooking. The theatre has only ok'd the use of a hot plate, not the range itself. So the question is: Can a burner and drip catch on the range be removed and the hotplate set in place under the cooktop so that it appears to be a burner? Is there enough space? A hot plate base unit is usually about 3" in height and around 22" in length. Will the hot plate being used under the range cause any problems with the wiring on the stove (we may be borrowing a working stove and can't make any changes to it). Anything that I'm missing/not aware of to consider? Suggestions? Thanks

Open Question: how do I remove the water meter pit cover?

doing plumbing work, need to shut water off at curb. It's a round cover with some sort of half round knob on the top. How do I get that blasted cover off? Jake, hum, I just assume the meter was in there as well, but I'm not sure really. I'm really just trying to get to the shutoff, not trying to make "changes" to the meter as mastergardner suggested. If you really must know master garnder. Whoever installed the main line into the house has it sticking out about 10 inches from the wall and I'm trying to finish the basement. Want to bring it into the wall closer.

Open Question: Can you lay stone tile right over an acrylic shower floor? What about right over laminate counter?

I'm thinking about laying stone tile as flooring in my acrylic shower for my master bedroom. I'm also thinking about laying the stone tile as a counter top in my guest bath. It has laminate right now. Can I lay the stone right on top of these surfaces? Here is the link of the type of stone tile I want to use: http://www.stratastones.net/
