Open Question: How to kill drain flies? and more... Open Question: How to kill drain flies? They appear in the dozen around the kitchen area. I've sprayed chemicals, poured bleach and plugged the sinks, yet they keep appearing. I've now sealed off the laundry, and all other rooms leading to the kitchen. Where would be the best places (around kitchen) to look and what is best for killing nests/larvae? The origin of the problem dates back to a week ago when my mom opened the cupboard underneath the sink to get a potato. I threw all the open food out that was being contained in the cupboard. Went through other cupboards and also threw open food out. My drain is U shaped with a fork for the sinks. The fabric is a standard 44 inch and the curtain is about 72 inches wide. Do you think it will look bad with a seam down the center? There is a half wall (about 2 feet long) in one bathroom that I want remove. It gives more privacy to the toilet area. The wall is perpendicular to the ceiling joists. I opened up the wall and the stud spacing is not 16" OC. Basically there is only one stud on each end of 2 ft wall.. The header is just a 2x4 but there might be another 2x4 stacked above it.. afraid to dig deeper until I think its safe. Is there anyway to tell if its load bearing?
