Open Question: Insulation a Craw Space - All Sheet Metal? and more... Open Question: Insulation a Craw Space - All Sheet Metal?I own a condo that has a sheet metal or aluminum base. I want to add insulation to the underside of this. The crawl space is easily accessible. The sheet metal and steel beams cover the entire underside of the home. I would like to know how to go about insulation this and how to attach since there is no wood to tack anything to in order to keep the insulation in place. Open Question: i would like to replace my old single handle delta shower valve with a new scald guard valve?Open Question: Why are my walls bowing out?I live in a 1992 skyline mobile home. 2 of the walls in the front are bowing, there drywall, they are bending like the piece is to tall and coming off the drywall screws. I tried to re screw them up and they wont stay. On the back of the home only 1 is doing it. some of the walls that were put up when the home was built have staples, the ones we replaced have screws. We checked to see if were unlevel and that wasn't it. Anyone know why and how to fix them? Open Question: wooden or steel hammer?Open Question: Questions about wire size and amp draw?Hi, I have a few questions reguarding wire and the amount of amps they can handle. Is all copper wire considered equal ? Details: Im wiring an air compressor that is 240V and 18-amp. I was told that I needed 10 gage wire so I ordered 40' of a 10/3 SOOW power wire online and bought 240v 3-prong wired plug from home depot so I can have a quick disconnect if ever needed. The wire size on both are 10 gage. But the power cable has many small strands per 10 gage wire where the power plug wire has less larger strands per 10 gage wire. Im NOT saying it has more wires. Both have 3, 10-AWG wires. Just the strands are much larger in the plug then the wire. So does it matter? will a 10 gage wire with 50 copper strands, hold the same as a 10 gage wire with 20 thicker strands? I hope you can understand what Im trying to say. ***response to answers*** I find that shocking. I was worried that more strands = lower melting tempture = lower power rating. the main 40' cable all has the same amount of strands. And the plug wires are all the same size. but the wires included with the plug have larger stands then the 40' wire. Because the plug came from home depot, and I ordered the 40' cable online, I was worried I bought cheap wire online. More Recent Articles
