Open Question: A kicked in door issue?

The door was kicked in, and the part in the door jam broke off. I know the wood can be replaced, but what tool is used to cut the wood for the piece to fit? what kind of drill piece? if there's a name for it.

Open Question: learning how to use sewing machine...?

so my plan for this summer is to learn how to sew with a sewing machine. I think i remember seeing a sign or some notification at Joann's for lessons but i'm not quite sure if that's true....I do have a sewing machine but it's old...not one of those ancient ones that you see in 102Dalmatians(this just popped into my mind.) but it doesn't have all the different threading patterns(or is it stitching) like the ones they have these days. any way. plus i can't even lift it on my own. i need my dad to. should i look into investing a new one or no...i'm 19 not that it does too much...hope this makes sense!

Open Question: can i compost shredded paper?

I work at a hotel and we get tons of shredded paper everyday that just goes to the waste basket. One of my co-workers asked me if we recycled...we don't. I came accross an article on the internet that I can make my own compost. I have done research on what i can compost and can't. I have come across two answers to my question. One is not too much and the other is yes. If I want to compost shredded paper how much can i throw in there and what are the dangers, if any, by adding it to my pile. One website suggested the ink that goes in the paper...is that true? Any help with references will be appreciated.

Open Question: Building a Skee Ball Machine....surface material?

I am building a Skee Ball machine in my garage and have just about all the piece figured out. I am stuck on what to cover the 'lane' with that will work as a good rolling surface. The actual SkeeBall brand machines are a cork surfacing...which can be very expensive and hard to find. Thoughts on other/better options? Places to get affordable cork roll? Any help would be appreciated...

Open Question: HOME SECURITY CAMERAS - TOP POINTS BEST ANSWER!!!?

I HAVE JUST INSTALLED CCTV ON MY HOME. I AM ASKING FOR ADVICE REALLY. THE MOTION DETECTOR AREA, THAT TRIGGERS RECORDING, IS SET ON AN AREA THAT PEOPLE USE MAINLY. WHEN THE CAR IS ON THE DRIVEWAY, THAT IS THE ONLY WAY THAT PEOPLE CAN GET ACCESS TO THE PROPERTY. HOWEVER WHEN THE CAR ISN'T ON THE DRIVEWAY, THERE ARE AREAS THAT A CRIMINAL COULD GET ACCESS TO THE PROPERTY UNDETECTED. DO YOU THINK THAT A CRIMINAL WOULD WALK THROUGH THE MOTION DETECTOR AREA ANYWAY. THE DETECTION AREA COVERS HALF OF THE DRIVEWAY, SO DO YOU THINK THE CRIMINAL WOULD TRIGGER THE SYSTEM WITHOUT HIM KNOWING IT. PS - THE SYSTEM DID CONVICT A CRIMINAL JUST 3 DAYS AGO. HE TRIGGERED THE SYSTEM WITHOUT HIM KNOWING IT. HE WAS QUITE SHOCKED TO SEE WE HAD CCTV FOOTAGE OF HIM ACTUALLY KEY-ING OUR CAR. IT WAS OUR NEIGHBOUR BY THE WAY. PLEASE HELP ME, AND IF CCTV HAS HELPED YOU IN ANY CASE, PLEASE TELL ME. THANKS THANKS IN ADVANCE. I HAVE TO WRITE IN CAPS
