Open Question: Should I buy a handheld tile saw or one of the table style tile saws? Also, tile around toilet or remove toile?I have never done tile before but planning on tiling a small bathroom in my house tomorrow. It's a very small space probably about 8x6 or so. Do I remove the toilet, tile and then put it back on or do I just tile around the toilet? I need to buy a tile saw. Shoudl I buy the handheld type thats like a grinder or should I buy the table type. Most of my cuts will be straight besides around the toilet if I do indeed tile around the toilet. Finally, when I buy spacers is there any rule of thumb as far as what size spacers to buy in relation to the tile size or is it personal preference? Open Question: new flooring ideas for subfloor?I have a LARGE section of my home that has discusting old carpet. I want to redo the floors but need an inexpensive option. New carpet, hardwood or pergo would be too expensive (too much area plus installation). I wish I had concrete because I would just stain it. Does anyone have any ideas on what I could do to the subfloors or an inexpensive solution to put on top of them???? all sounds great be as the area I am doing is well over 600sqft. Cost is a HUGE factor and I'm not sure if I can get free carpet for an area that size! My room was painted but from the dreadful paint fumes it's really hard to breath in there. I can't get the window opened because it's unreachable without a ladder.
