Open Question: Steel pin on a filter paper and put it on the surface of water in a china dish filter paper will soon sink?Open Question: Do I need planning permission, for example, to move an external doorway?The house (in England) has a side door within an enclosed alley between two (ex-council) houses adjoined on the second floor. I wish to brick-up that doorway in favour of a new rear-facing doorway to lead from the kitchen area directly into the rear garden. Do I need to acquire any permissions, certification regarding building regulations, etc. - or can I simply get on with the job? Many thanks! Open Question: How can I put a light over my kitchen sink?My friend bought a new house(built in 2009) but there's no light over the kitchen sink. There isn't a single window in the kitchen & to have light over the sink,you have to turn on the four huge lights. There are cabinets above her sink & she wants to install herself/have installed some sort of lighting. What type of lighting would be best? Would she be better off hiring someone to install it? Any other advice is appreciated as she is trying to save as much money as she possibly can. If you need more information,you can ask here and/or email me.
