Open Question: Toilet tank overflows?

my toilet tank just started overflowing when it is flushed - the tank keeps filling with the clean water but then does not stop. It ran out the top of the tank and over all the floor. Turned off the water and tried it again but had no luck. I has a water intake assembly. What do I do? I am new to all this stuff and I am a girl who own her own house. Can I fix this?? Luckily i have another bathroom until i can figure it out. Thanks for the quick answers. mine does not have a floater which is one of those round balloon shaped things - my other toilet has that - this one has a Fluidmaster cylinder thing which should rise when the water is high i think but it doesn't therefore it won't shut off.

Open Question: What to use to coat a custom beerpong table?!?

I just painted a custom beerpong table, and it is on a wood surface. What I would like to do is find some sort of a clear coating that I can almost paint onto it to form somewhat of a plexiglass surface. What can I buy?
