Open Question: Hitachi or Stanley Bostitch? and more... Open Question: Hitachi or Stanley Bostitch?what exactly does a third year apprentice carpenter use a staple gun for? and what is a really decent brand and type of staple gun he needs, that I can buy him for his birthday (under $550). I don't know what's better Hitachi or Stanley bostitch... Open Question: What is one way to get serious about work you do for yourself?Open Question: How can I fix and ball and socket shower head that is loose?I'm not sure if ball and socket is an actual term, but the shower head is attached to the wall with a ball that is supposed to move to allow one to easily adjust the shower head. When we turn the water on or off and it fills with water, the sudden pressure sometimes causes the shower head to fall ( usually at an angle to cause it to spray water all overthe bathroom). There are no visible screws or anything to tighten. It's a Kohler installed about two years ago. Any ideas? Thanks! Open Question: Question on moving a toilet drain?I have to install a sump pit in my basement and I'm looking for a way to vent it off of the main vent stack in the house. The last fixture draining into the stack is a toilet, and that connects right at the top of the ceiling. I'm looking to tie my vent into that stack but the only way to do so and get it above the toilet drain so that it's not wet vented is to cut the pipe coming from the toilet and 45 it down and tie in a little lower with a Y. Other than this option the only thing that I can do is tear up the walls in the bathroom above and tie it in up there. My question is can a toilet drain come down and then 45 down again before it ties into the stack? Open Question: how do you get a rust stain out of a kitchen countertop?More Recent Articles |
