Open Question: Advice needed in venting a cooktop?Installing a new (JennAir) downdraft cooktop in place of an old one, and of course the ducting does not line up. Existing 6" venting comes up from the floor through an elbow. Offset between cooktop vent output and existing vent input is about 2 ft horizontal, 1 ft vertical. Can barely fit two elbows with some small length cut-to-order vent-pipe between them. Seems like I'll need to first install the two elbows , then connect the ends by wraping a piece of vent pipe and securung with metal tape and clamps. Is there a better way? So three elbows within a couple of feet. How badly will this affect venting performance? Easier retrofit might be to use a small section of flexible venting for this small run (about 3 ft).
