Open Question: Can i wire a ceiling spotlight bar with halegen bulbs to a plug then run off sockets ?Hi, im looking at some halogen spotlights (4) that are normally wired into the electrics in the ceiling where the exciting wiring is. The thing is it's for my dartboard... I want it the in the corner where the board is and not in the centre of the room where the light fitting is. So my question is can i buy this > http://www.homebase.co.uk/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?langId=-1&storeId=20001&partNumber=1811212&Trail=searchtext%3EYORKIE and then rewire it so i can connect it to a cable then hide the cable with plastic strips then use the plug in the socket? or is this not possible for any reason? p.s i have 0 electrical knowledge except from how to wire a plug !! Open Question: How to use a new shower head replacement with an old ball joint shower head?I live in an old apartment and my showerhead kinda sucks, i went to walmart and bought a new one with the 3 settings but when i came home to check it out my shower thing has a ball at the end and theres a screw on cap on the rod and the head just pops on and the cap screws on it. so what can i do to make it where i can screw on a normal shower head? Open Question: Mini Electric Dust Blowers?Do hardware stores sell those? I'm not sure what they are called so I assume they must be "Mini Electric Dust Blowers". I plan to use them for things like keyboard cleaning, handheld devices, etc. however I don't really need those full sized ones and yes I need a electrical powered one, those manual ones just won't do. Open Question: "Nails" in concrete floor, trying to lay vinyl plank floor...?I have striped and removed all carpet and glue contents from my floor, now revealing the concrete slab. I have been laying vinyl plank floor. Well I have now gotten to the edge of the floor and noticed 2 small nail like studs sticking up. Well my plank there is not going to lay flat with these things sticking up...what do I do about this..and why are they there? Open Question: cant' get light fixture off to change bulb?I have this weird light fixture I can't unscrew. Help!? All of the light fixtures in my place look fairly standard--glass half globes in the ceiling with a little cap in the middle holding them in place. When I go to unscrew the cap, there's a small hollow metal rod held place by this flat metal piece, and those seem to be holding the glass part in place. and I can't figure out how to unscrew *this part*. All of the light fixtures in my place have the same problem, so I don't think it's just a matter of the parts being stuck. I've tried all sorts of tools, brute force, I *can't* get this thing unscrewed! Help! I really need to change my lightbulbs. Sorry I don't have a pic. But if anyone has *any* ideas and/or links to websites with info on this topic, I'd greatly appreciate it. Open Question: I have a 40-60 Lb. punching bag i would like to hang in my room over in the corner somewhere?I live in a duplex apartment, can anyone tell me how to go about this. I know i need a stud finder and find the stud in the ceiling but after that im a bit lost. I have hooks screws that my dad gave me to hang it up with also. I'd appreciate the help very much :) Open Question: Nutone intercom door unit.?Hi, I have a nutone 2090 intercom in my house, its about 30 years old. I have the wiring in place for a door unit speaker, but I took the speaker off because stupid people didn't know how to use it. What I'm wondering is can I just put a doorbell button on this wiring so the doorbell would ring through the intercom, but have no outdoor speaker. I have a 4,000 square foot house so it's sometimes hard to hear the doorbell. Also, would it be possible to install a new master station unit and keep the same remote speakers? Open Question: What would be the minimum sized alcove neccessary to fit a 68"7/8 sized clawfoot tub?Open Question: I have a #@*Beaumark dishwasher. After 2 years it wasn't draining so I de-scaled?I tried dismantling the float because the bottom wouldn't drain despite all my efforts (maybe it was stuck). Well....now the #@*#thing won't stop draining! It drains while it's filling, it drains while it washes, rinces, etc. I checked the float and it goes up and down when I touch it (I broke off the cover over the float, but it appears okay). Any suggestions (outside of putting the cover back on--its broke)? More Recent Articles
