Open Question: Can we connect to our own power generator?

Let's say we bought our own electric power generator. How can we disconnect our home power supply from the government electric power supply and reconnect it to our own electric power generator? Can it ever be done?

Open Question: 1st Upholstery job...advice please?

I'm wanting to buy this chair: http://batonrouge.craigslist.org/fuo/1630745943.html And make it look similar to the chair (what you can see of it) in this pic: http://cn1.kaboodle.com/hi/img/b/0/0/3e/e/AAAAC3IsAnwAAAAAAD7sLQ.jpg Before I buy it, do you think it'll be possible? Also, do you have any advice for a rookie upholsterer? Thanks!

Open Question: Installing Laminate Flooring HELP!!!!?

OK, I know the basics on how to put in Laminate Flooring, but and tips you might have or websites/you-tube videos that are helpful would be greatly appreciated! My question is that wouldn't the flooring move as a whole (after its all locked in and you are practically finished) because of t he 1/4 gap you leave between all the walls and the floor? would the base lining you put over the edges of the bottom of the walls touching the floors lock the flooring in place? I already know a random plank wouldn't just come out of the floor because every plank is locked together, but after all the planks are locked together and you have made practically one giant piece of plank, would that 'giant piece of plank' move due the gap you leave at the walls? Please Help!!!!!

Open Question: I've decided to do something fun with this room...?

that my husband can enjoy, but have a small area for the kids and their toys. . However, have NO idea what to do with the long side walls. I want to make this a gameroom. The room is 14x33. I'm not opposed to paneling or any other textures; it doesn't have to be just paint I am painting the 2 end walls (wall with window & wall with the door) purple & gold argyle (LSU colors). There will be a dry erase board panel in the kids area (markers that can just write on the board of course). Any other ideas? http://i142.photobucket.com/albums/r107/tlmcmichael/Gamerm.jpg
